A conference energiser is a short, high-participation session placed inside a conference programme to lift a flat room, usually after lunch or deep into a long agenda. Rather than another speaker talking at the audience, people are invited to participate, with options to observe or adapt.
Shareen Richter delivers conference energisers and full keynotes on laughter, wellbeing and resilience for conferences in Johannesburg, across South Africa and internationally. She is a TEDx speaker and has been facilitating since 2009.
Keynotes and participative sessions shaped to your audience.

The Room Reset
Give Shareen your most tired post-lunch audience. The session is structured to invite participation without putting anyone on the spot.
Planning the slot
Tell us the audience, programme slot, room layout and purpose. We will agree the participation approach, access requirements and AV needs before the event.
Her talk was powerful, fun and engaging. The staff left with so much to take away, and they laughed their heads off.
From a flat room to one that is switched on.
No single session can promise a fixed result. This is what the experience is designed to make room for.

They may leave
- Re-energised and ready for the next session
- Talking to each other, with a shared moment to refer back to
- With one or two simple resets to use after the event
Participation is always a choice. This is a facilitated wellbeing and learning experience, not therapy or clinical treatment.
Seventeen years of reading conference rooms.
Shareen Richter has facilitated since 2009, for more than 50,000 people. That includes packed conference halls, boardrooms, staff rooms and small teams, across South Africa and internationally.
She reads the room before she asks anything of it, adjusts the pace and intensity as she goes, and makes it easy for quieter or unsure people to take part at their own level. Nobody is put on the spot, and nobody has to be funny.
